{"id":2416,"date":"2026-04-16T14:40:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T14:40:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/depeeme.com\/turistify-vs-inhabit-launching-a-new-model-on-the-market"},"modified":"2026-05-21T10:31:59","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T10:31:59","slug":"turistify-vs-inhabit-launching-a-new-model-on-the-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/depeeme.com\/en\/turistify-vs-inhabit-launching-a-new-model-on-the-market","title":{"rendered":"Turistify vs. Inhabit: Launching a new model on the market"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">From the touristification of dwellings&#8230; to the humanization of tourist sites  <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The concept of &#8220;touristification&#8221;,<em>according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundeu.es\/recomendacion\/turistificacion-neologismo-valido\/\">Fundeu RAE<\/a>, <\/em>refers to the<strong>:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;<strong>The impact of mass tourism as well as the impact on the resident<\/strong>of a place when<strong>services, facilities and businesses are oriented and conceived with the tourist in mind rather than the citizen<\/strong>who lives there permanently&#8221;.  <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most heated debates in recent years revolves around the <strong>touristification of housing<\/strong>. Entire neighborhoods transformed, rents skyrocketing, neighbors displaced, cities losing their essence&#8230; All this because homes intended for living are being used as tourist accommodations.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is a natural trend in a rapidly changing world, where everyone is looking for new ways to travel, discover places and live experiences. However, this phenomenon may have created a <strong>distortion:<\/strong> housing is no longer dedicated to what it was designed for &#8211; to be a<strong>home &#8211;<\/strong>but to what maximizes short-term profitability.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">And this is where we want to propose a totally different model: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/depeeme.com\/que-es-la-vida-depeeme\">live depeeme<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>At depeeme we propose the opposite: to leave the dwellings to live&#8230; and to inhabit the tourist spaces.<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While other models convert homes into vacation rentals, we offer the opposite:  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udc49 <strong>that tourist spaces be habitable<\/strong> <br\/>\ud83d\udc49 and that housing be more accessible homes for young people<strong> and other vulnerable groups. <\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, if someone, especially in stages of new life freedom such as retirement, wants to live different experiences, travel more slowly or move between destinations&#8230; <br\/>does he\/she have to occupy housing that is needed for the local population? <strong>No.<\/strong> <br\/> <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In fact, there are already spaces designed for exactly that: <strong>hotels<\/strong>. If you think about it, a hotel has everything a home can&#8217;t offer:  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>comprehensive infrastructure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>services designed for wellness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>staff dedicated to making your life easier<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>common spaces for socializing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ongoing maintenance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and strategic location in privileged surroundings.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">And note: Hotels <strong>are not taking up residential space<\/strong>. <strong>They are where they belong.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>To inhabit tourist areas is not to be a tourist: it is to live in a different way.<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At depeeme we do not propose &#8220;permanent tourism&#8221;. We propose something much more profound: <strong>living with freedom<\/strong>. Living for a few months near the sea, then in a cultural city, then in a natural environment&#8230; <br\/>all in spaces <strong>created<\/strong> to welcome people, to offer services, comfort and community.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In doing so:  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>we do not expel any resident<\/strong>, but promote the access of new residents.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>we do not stress the housing market<\/strong>, but rather promote the availability of rental housing.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>we do not turn homes into tourism products<\/strong>, but we turn hotels into homes.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>and <strong>we bring value to an industry<\/strong> -the hotel industry- that is already prepared to receive us.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is, in essence, an innovative, ethical, sustainable and humane way to enjoy every season of life.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From the touristification of dwellings&#8230; to the humanization of tourist sites The concept of &#8220;touristification&#8221;,according to Fundeu RAE, refers to the: One of the most heated debates in recent years revolves around the touristification of housing.
